understanding and obstructing

So the YogiBear says he can’t say much because he is bound by ICC regulations. He then promptly proceeds to say as much as he could on his dismissal yesterday, and the ‘larger picture’ which he believes it is part of.

I am not even sure whether I should go into this right now, but by writing that article (or crediting it with his name), Inzamam has done the very thing he claims to have advised his boys to not- make an issue of his dismissal. More so because he seems to be bothered as much with his dismissal per se, as with his belief that the Indians have acted in a spirit that does not belonging to the great gentleman’s game.

One gets the impression that his outburst (for this is what it must classify as) is borne more of frustration- after Faisalabad and Peshawar, he seems to be at a loss at understanding the laws of the game he plays. Sorry, Inzy, that’s nobody’s fault but yours. As is the fact that yesterday, you were strolling a couple of feet out of crease when the ball was still in play. Add to that your words questioning the sense of fair play in the opposing captain and his boys, and you’ve just made a hat-trick of goofups in the space of a day.

Not only that. I think Inzy is captaining only because he is batting so well. One any day Younis leads this Pakistani team better than him IMO.

i know what you mean, gana- but i think also that he has played a part in bringing the team together a little...

sfx, of course its ghost written. But there are some strong statements there, not just a passing reference. So the language would be the ghost writer- but Inzy would have to be ok with saying the things the column does- esp about the other team....

Inzi should never ever write columns while he's still playing, he gets all worked up for some reason. This is totally unlike his usuall self in real life when he takes everything really easy.

How much is the News paying him for the columns anyway? Sack the ghost writer or give the columns I say. Can't stand the embarassment any more.

I meant to say give writing the columns up.

My typing is terrible.

zainub- I know what you mean- such unvelied comments are quite unlike the on-field Inzy, though i suspect his 'sweet and amiable' image is not a given, even on the field? :)
And the thing is- though I know it is ghost written, I am sure Inzy would know the thoughts going through, if not the language.
but ya- a captain writing during a series does not make the best sense to me- in fact any player, unless it is a tour diary sort of thing...
